The Allure of Cannes

The glitz and glam that makes Cannes a hot spot for wealthy jetsetters and movie stars makes it the perfect place to unwind for the luxury traveler. The small French resort town along the Cote d'Azur is best known for its annual Festival De Cannes. But the spotlight also shines on some of Cannes most iconic hotels, however, there is none quite like the exclusive Grand Hyatt Cannes Hotel Martinez. It is a crown jewel that sits along the famous Boulevard de la Croisette exuding sophistication and star power.

The Martinez has 409 guestrooms and 27 suites. It's also home to one of the largest penthouse suites in Europe attracting luxury watch and jewelry house Chopard during the film festival. The hotel also has the largest private beach on the Croisette and the areas only two star Michelin Restaurant, the Palme d' Or with a view overlooking the Bay of Cannes and the Mediterranean Sea.

When I checked into this magnificent hotel, I quickly discovered why celebrities like Eva Longoria love it. Hollywood starlets frequently request the art deco-inspired deluxe sea view rooms with fashionable furnishings, beautiful art, marble bath and balcony that greets the sea. There's something magical about waking up in a place that's timeless and elegant.

While in Cannes, there are many leisurely things to do such as lounge poolside with Champagne in hand or stroll the boulevard where famous designer boutiques such as Chanel, Hermes and Fendi inspire a shopping spree like no other place in the world. But your day doesn't have to end there, spending time at sea on a luxury yacht or driving along the coast in a Bentley provides the ultimate rendezvous with  your wildest dream.

Jetsetters know it's not only where you stay but also where you dine on the French Riviera. The Martinez's Le Relais Restaurant offers an amazing Sunday Brunch in a relaxed setting with starters like Oysters on the half shell, followed by short ribs, dessert and cheese plates. The restaurant also offers an impressive wine selection.

When in Cannes, it doesn't matter who you are but how you shine amongst the stars. A trip to this "haute" resort town is your gateway to the most iconic holiday that you could have ever imagined. There's never a dull moment in Cannes, it's always a great idea.
