Summer Whites Travel Tips!

Summer travel is heating up and it's time for fashionable summer whites.  Let's just say a great dress, top and jeans are a staple for the Haute Travels girl.  I love crisp, cool, clean white clothing options for a quick getaway to the beach or a week long vacation on the Riviera.

But how do you travel wearing white clothes and still stay haute?  Well, it's not easy but the trick is to know how to pack, cover-up and when to pull out your favorite white pieces.  I almost want to say, be sure to wear white gloves when handling these precious garments.

Here are my 5 tips to wearing summer whites while traveling:

Tip #1
I try not to wear white jeans or white dresses when flying.  I usually wear black or dark colors.  It shows less dirt from sliding into seats and let's face it, black is always chic.

Tip #2
Pull out your cute white jeans or jumpsuits when you're doing less sitting and more moving about. But if you do get something on your clothes just pull out your portable stain remover pen before it's too late.

Tip #3
When you're wearing white clothes try to stay away from foods with dipping sauces or ketchup and mustard.  And dare I say it, don't go near coffee or red wine if you're the type prone to spills and drips.  But if you must, cover-up by placing a napkin in your lap and over your blouse or shirt.  However, if you want to stay fashionable just wear a pretty scarf around your neck as a bib.

Tip #4
When packing for a trip, be sure to keep your white clothing away from dark colors or liquids.  I usually pack them separately or use plastic travel bags to keep them safe from stains.

Tip #5
When you're in your bathroom or beauty lounge, never put on white clothes while doing your makeup.  I have ruined many tops even when I tried my best to be careful.  If you must, protect your clothes with a robe and use a scarf to cover your face and hair when you take off your white shirt to keep it makeup free.

Wearing white is always fun against sun-kissed skin and now that you have my tips, be sure to wear it well.

Happy summer vacay!

Extra Tip:
Baking soda and water made into a paste and put over a stain can also be effective on your white clothing.  The baking soda draws the stain out, but before using, be sure to check cleaning instructions for your individual clothing needs.
