Haute Travel Hacks to Save Money Using Carry-On Luggage

If you're traveling right now, you know the cost for planes, trains hotels and rental cars have increased a lot. But there are ways to save in the middle of what feels like the squeeze.

When it comes to paying extra for checking your luggage, you can avoid the baggage fees by implementing a few packing tips. Here are my four tips for saving money

Sample Size Beauty Products

Carry samples instead of your regular size beauty products such as lotions and creams. You can buy sample sizes from your local retailer in the beauty department.

Manage Your Liquids

Only take what you plan to use and pour enough into travel size containers to last throughout your trip. Make sure that it doesn't exceed three ounces in your carryon luggage.

Use a tote or slightly larger Bag as Your Personal Item

You can always store your purse inside your tote bag to get past check-in. So bring a slightly larger bag to carry such items as jewelry, medicines, travel documents such as passports, and a pouch for easy access to credit cards or cash.

Wear Coats and Jackets

You can save space in your carry-on luggage by wearing your coat, jacket, scarf, and hats. You can save a lot of space by wearing boots and sneakers onboard.

One More HAUTE TIP:  If you decide to pack your boots or sneakers into your checked luggage. You can use them by stuffing products or other items inside to save space.
