Summer Travel Tips on Saving Money!

Summer is coming in HAUTE! But the cost for that much needed vacation is going to cost you. There are so many places that I want to visit and live my best sun-kissed life. But when I add up the price, it starts to look a little costly.

Let's face it airline tickets, hotels, food and transportation can add up quickly. And nobody wants to budget when they vacation, however, you can absolutely jet off to that long-awaited destination on a variety of budgets if you are flexible.

Planning ahead is a great idea but I am not a planner so I have to be more creative when bringing costs down. I love luxury hotels but I also really like hidden gem properties that offer a little bit of exclusivity in the perfect location.

I consider myself a problem-solver and one thing that I love to do is figure out how to save on pricy hotels. The best way to do it is to be flexible. I secured rooms for a thousand dollars a night by using points at the right time. You can also look at the rates and pinpoint the best time to book for half the cost.

But what really makes my heart smile, hotel upgrades! I save the most money booking great hotel rooms and getting even better rooms when I check into the hotel. The price difference can sometimes be double what I was paying.

And please be flexible when it comes to booking airline tickets. I secured flights to Miami using less that 8,000 miles on American and Delta within a seven day departure schedule. I traveled during the week and apparently, the airlines were cutting the amount of miles needed thanks to one of my credit cards that's co-branded with Delta Airlines.

I even saved money on my ride-share to the airport with credits for Uber from the same credit card. If you have credit cards that offer benefits take notes. It was magical!

And now, I am looking to secure travel deals from a couple of well-known sites that are offering some pretty good packages in places that I love to visit. I usually book my own travel but this year, I may shake things up.

Travel is totally worth the investment but smart travelers know there are many ways to get more bang for your buck. And that means the more you save, the more trips to come.
